Hellllooo! My name is Tekurah 'TK' Boyd and I am the owner and educator of Total Koality, LLC. I have worked various roles during my 15 years in the field of education. I have attended trainings and certified in CPR/First Aid/AED, Epi-pen, CPI Training, Child Abuse and Neglect, VDSS Endorsements(Health, Safety, & Nutrition; Child, Infant and Toddler, Early Childhood Creativity), Before and Afterschool Care. Over the years, I grew, I learned, and observed. However, it always felt like something was missing. As an educator, at the time, it felt like you were always being held back by invisible red tape or unappreciated. You get used to it because the feeling you get watching a child grow and being apart of that development overshadows any negative experiences or feelings you have about education. However, you never get comfortable seeing a child or family feeling helpless and unappreciated as they are denied care because their child is labeled, bullied, the family lacks income, resources or whatever life decides to throw their way. The day I witnessed this injustice was the day I discovered what was missing. I realized, although education has come far; education is still missing genuine heart and consideration for the families in need and educators. I realized I wanted to do more, offer more, give more, and truly help families strive in life. That's when I started my babysitting service, TK The Sitter. TK The Sitter molded into what you know today as Total Koality, LLC.

Total Koality is a black owned babysitting service in the Raleigh-Durham (& surrounding Areas) of North Carolina. We are a small business that sees the value in each child and family. We plan to build and grow in the Durham Community to help all children and families. We want to expand our reach. We want families and educators to feel empowered, valued, appreciated, and happy with their child care provider. We want families to feel they are getting the help and resources they deserve, not just what they can afford. We envision creating a space that :

  • is safe

  • A space that is welcoming, respectful, inviting and loving

  • A space that is inclusive and equitable for all

  • A space that is equal parts, calm and fun

  • A space that is 5 Star Rated

  • A space that Encourages Growth and stimulation for all

  • A space that hosts and offers parent classes and lectures

  • A space that offers training and mentorship to present and future educators

  • A space that frequently gives back to the community with child centered events and event space

  • A space that fairly compensates, rewards, and covers staff and volunteers

  • A space that bridges the gap between families and they resources they need

  • A space that follows the Creative Curriculum and constantly giving children the opportunity to learn, grow, and play
